Untitled (Trinket Portrait)
Each object encased in this vessel is from a collection of trinkets that I started in early childhood. A black rhinestone pendant that I found on the sidewalk outside my grandmother’s house as we watched the 4th of July parade go by…a Shrinky Dink treble clef I made at my friend Annabelle’s house…a half-used tube of E6000 from a Tech Deck kit. I hold a reverence for these random pieces of trash in the same way one might adore an expensive jeweled necklace.
