In this abstracted map of Chicago, I try to encapsulate the duality of my hometown’s reputation. Some may see weeds and cracked sidewalks as a sign of negligence, an embarrassing eyesore, or something to be fixed. To me, I see the growth and resilience of my neighborhoods and communities. Our hardened roots are what keep us connected to one another.
